Anaesthetists:

 Dr Ian Hendy M.B.B.S., F.F.A.R.A.C.S., F.A.N.Z.C.A

Dr Hendy is a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. This means that, following the university medical degree (currently six years), and three years of basic hospital training, he successfully completed the further five years of training and examinations required to obtain the qualification of Specialist in Anaesthesia. He has been in full time specialist practice since 1987, and has wide experience in a variety of types of anaesthesia, and Dr Hendy participates in his Professional College’s “Maintenance of Professional Standards” continuing education programme

 Dr Jane Mcdonald

Dr McDonald completed her medical degree with honours at the University of NSW in 1979. She completed post-graduate training in anaesthesia in 1985 to obtain her FANZCA (Fellow of Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists). She completed another two years as a Fellow in Anaesthesia at The Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children. She is currently a Visiting anaesthetist at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Westmead Public Hospital. Since 1989 she has provided general anaesthetics to children being treated at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health. She has a particular interest in paediatric dental anaesthesia and is involved in teaching anaesthetic trainees in paediatric anaesthesia.

sandhu.jpgDr Amarjit Sandhu, M.B., Ch.B. (Liverpool), FFARACS, FANZCA Dr Sandhu lived in Tanzania, India and England before coming to Australia in 1977. He received his medical degree from UK’s University of Liverpool in 1974 and worked as a trainee anaesthetist in Westmead, Auburn, Liverpool (in Sydney) and Lidcombe hospitals from 1978. He passed his exams and registered as a specialist anaesthetist in 1981.Dr Sandhu has an ongoing interest in children’s anaesthetics, and a depth of experience in paediatric dentistry. While he works with three E.N.T. surgeons and has a heavy pediatric workload, his particular expertise in adult and paediatric maxillofacial and oral surgery brings him into contact with a wide spectrum of patients, and gives Dr Sandhu a different perspective in anaesthesia care.

He is currently a visiting specialist anaesthetist at Nepean Private Hospital, Westmead Private Hospital & Minchinbury Community Hospital as well as other private hospitals

Dr Cordato trained as an Anaesthetic Specialist at Westmead Hospital. Although Australian Anaesthetic training includes Paediatric Anaesthetic training, Dr Cordato advanced his Paediatric Anaesthetic techniques by working an Anaesthetic Fellowship year at the Children’s Hospital Westmead. His current week sees him providing Anaesthesia at Nepean Public and Private Hospitals to both adults and children undergoing a variety of operations.
 

For over ten years he has regularly provided Anaesthesia for Paediatric Dental operations with Specialist Paediatric Dentists. He enjoys a good working relationship with several Dental Teams. Our goals are to make our patient's operations safe and pleasant.
